Well that was a fun start to the day, very heavy sleet driving up to the event and when we got into the car park, the sleet came down by the buckets full, made the ground all clean and white, just as the planner and controller were putting their controls out. Thank you all for your perseverance as we endeavoured to get the event into such a small area and a big thanks to Paul and Pete for the cracking courses, very well received. Also a special thanks to Bobbie and Richard in manning the start in such cold condition; ok for the competitors as we were running around to keep warm, they only had the few feet around the start box to move.
Although a number of people did not turn up, over all those that did were treated to a quality event.
Next week we are on Mytchett and we have HQ 101 Operational Sustainment Brigade covering some tasks.
MLS now run a free coaching stand at all events. Coaches are available help both beginners get to grips with the vagaries of orienteering, but also the more experienced orienteers that want to refine their O skills. Either book for coaching on RSU when you enter, or just pop over to the stand on the day. We can always learn something, even if it is only re-learning something you just forgot.
