Thanks to Di Smith of SOC for taking on the planning, especially as we were waiting months to find out if the bridge in the middle of the map would get repaired, I told her not to worry as we could just send you all through the pond anyway. She also had to contend with hubby as the controller, never an easy issue.

I had estimated a max of 150 and we were just under that, the car park is popular with dog walkers, but we had the road behind Tom to ease the load and despite forecast in the run-up of dire weather it turned out very well with temps up to 20 deg and I was out of the car park at the end before it started raining.

Dibden Purlieu is a deceptive area, looks simple but it is so easy to get the tracks wrong as I nearly did going 8 to 9 on the LG and there are a couple of really intricate contour areas in the woods that I know caught many out.

In 2 weeks we are off to Rhinefields, also in the New Forest so lets hope for similar weather, I can promise you some challenging course and the ice cream wagon will also be there.
